10.17.2002 :: Back from vacation

I'm back from a lovely vacation. I was able to kick back and knit my little heart out, leading to the completion of two sleeves and most of the back of the Inishmore sweater that I'm working on.
The yarn that I'm using is Mission Falls 1824 wool. It's a washable merino wool.

What I don't like about the yarn:
1. It splits very easily, which is a pain in the neck since the sweater that I'm knitting has numerous cables and twisted stitches.
What I like about the yarn:
1. The color. It's called Thyme and is a pale greyish-olive.
2. It's very soft.
3. It has a lovely, soft sheen. The parts of the sweater which I have completed have almost a buttery glow.
I would definitely use this yarn again, but for something that is made with basic stitches. I think it would be very nice for kid's stuff or for someone who has sensitive skin.

Wait until you visit. I have a whole basket of Mission Falls wool waiting to be knit up into an afghan. But after hearing about your experience with pilling, I can't get motivated to start. Wah! :)
