Here are some photos of a recently completed skein of yarn that was spun on my Ashford Traditional wheel. This skein weighs in at about 3 ounces.
I purchased close to a pound of this roving from an ebay auction. A pound of wool is kind of like a pound of popcorn - it's amazing how much spinning time you can get from that one pound. This results in a relative bargain in terms of the amount of relaxation and enjoyment that it brings for the investment!
The beautiful roving is from Dyeing for Fiber. You can also find it up for auction on ebay. The wool in this roving is Blue Faced Leicester.
It's very nice to spin...and easy to spin. The finished yarn is quite soft.

Hey Mary, how many yards did you get out of your 3oz skein? I'm still plugging away at mine, when I have time...

Wow, it's beautiful. I wish I could get that stuff without having to go through competitive bidding!! You're obviously a natural at this spinning stuff!
