Back when I was in college, we used to do this by hand in page layouts and we called it 'greeking' or dummy type. Basically what you have is meaningless text that can sit in a page design or mockup to represent where real type will eventually go.
A key use for the dummy text is that while reviewing a layout, actual words would not interfere with the critique of the overall design.
When I worked as a graphic designer in the advertising department at Filene's, I once made up some silly, but readable text to fill in the space for the ad copy in a mittens/scarves/hat ad. It was something like Warm Woollens for Wet Winters. Amazingly, the ad made it through weeks of review and ended up running in the Sunday paper almost exactly as I had written it!
subterrane.com has a "lorem ipsum' generator that is one of the most used links I have in my favorites. It is infinitely useful if you spend any time mocking up designs.
You can even change the default text to more closely resemble your native language:
Ma quande lingues coalesce, li grammatica del resultant lingue es plu simplic e regulari quam ti del coalescent lingues. Li nov lingua franca va esser plus.
