10.08.2003 :: It's Official - We have Winners!

we're having a partyThe results from yesterdays contest are in! The Grand Prize Winner for getting the correct answer and then being drawn at random from the group of other correct answers is: Erica of Fillyjonk's Progress

Noro KureoPatoraFor correctly guessing that the list of occupations was a subset of the the California gubernatorial candidates, Erica wins two skeins of Noro KureoPatora!

Fixation Yarn!And, because all of the answers were good guesses, I had a second drawing from the remaining entries! The second prize goes to Amy of Squibnocket! (I should note here that this truly was a random drawing and its just a coincidence that the second prize is two skeins of fixation sock yarn - no wool!)

Thanks to everyone who participated!

From the occupations that were listed, here are the ones that I thought were most interesting and how those candidates did in the election:

BRUCE MARGOLIN Marijuana Legalization Attorney Dem 7,981 0.2
DAVID LAUGHING HORSE ROBINSON Tribal Chairman Dem 5,749 0.0
IVAN A. HALL Custom Denture Manufacturer Grn 2,045 0.0
NED ROSCOE Cigarette Retailer Lib 2007 0.0
MARK VALDEZ Air Pollution Scientist Dem 1500 0.0
DARIN PRICE University Chemistry Instructor Nat 1029 0.0
ROBERT C. NEWMAN II Psychologist/Farmer Rep 859 0.0
KURT E. "TACHIKAZE" RIGHTMYER Middleweight Sumo Wrestler Ind 734 0.0
WILLIAM "BILL" S. CHAMBERS Railroad Switchman/Brakeman Rep 539 0.0

Considering that a body builder was elected governer, I would have expected a Sumo Wrestler to get more than just 734 votes!!

Maybe the sumo wrestler should've seen Ahnold's plastic surgeon. I believe that's the determining factor in CA elections. The candidate with the most Botox injections wins. :)

Pretty Fixation sock yarn!!!
