12.17.2003 :: The Smooch Graduates

The Graduate

Tonight, Spencer graduated from his Beginner's One Agility Class. He's done really well, and has even been receiving compliments on his good behaviour outside of class. that's disgusting!This is a big accomplishment as he's kind of an all or nothing guy when it comes to his allegiences and over the years his sometimes unpleasant behaviour has reflected this. He's been learning that it's possible to encounter someone new and not be a canine jerk about it. And the reward for him is that he gets to do many more fun things. Now Spencer moves into Beginner's Two and Katy moves into Beginner's One.

My knitting and spinning has been on a temporary hold while I rebuild my bathroom. The unscheduled re-model from hellI had a leaky drain under the sink, which led to a new sink, faucet and drainage plumbing. There are still a couple more pieces parts to put together before everything is back up and working. This has not been a fun project and on Sunday after my fourth trip to Lowe's I was pretty bummed out. How cool that on my visit to Kim's blog, she had the perfect entry for the way that I was feeling.

That's great! The only agility my dogs show is when they hear the words "Are you hungry?" or "Wanna a cookie?" Oh well. Congratulations to your talented pup.

I love your funky animations. :) Yay for Spencer! He just goes to prove you can teach an old dog new tricks. I wish I had known these classes existed back when I was dating. ;)

I like your description of Spencer. And I am impressed that you are tackling the bathroom project yourself.

Way to go Spencer! Plumbing too? You are a woman of many talents. My MIL is from Denmark....maybe I'll bring her a woven heart basket to surprise her on Xmas. BTW, if you have a line on golden aquavit, give a shout....there is an aquavit drought in these here parts.

Hey, last summer I replaced my kitchen faucet and drain pipe. It wasn't fun but was easier than I thought (just plenty yucky). By 8 PM on a Sunday I got tired of trying to save our existing faucet and had fun ripping it off (got a standard Delta to replace it--easier to find parts). Good luck!

LOVE the photo of Spencer on the railroad tracks! And what an accomplishment on being good outside of class. My dog Amber was a total show-off when we took classes. She would slip into her "REAL" self as soon as we left class! (the "ha! ha! ha!, I was only pretending!" dog) =)
