Close-up of Peace Fleece Grass Roots Worsted Weight Yarn

I confess, I'm obsessed with this yarn. It has such wonderfully complex colors. Leigh asked me about the colors because the Peace Fleece web site describes it as, "Warm medium brown heather with tiny bits of tangerine and teal." As you can tell from the picture, that description leaves out a few details. The wonderful variety of colored flecks is what keeps me fascinated while knitting with this yarn.

I've completed the arms for the everyday cardigan! (note: the sleeves are laying on top of a bulky, store-bought fair-isle pullover that has been pulled inside out - it's very warm and knit with wonderfully colorful yarn.)

Also, thanks for the thoughtful comments and questions about the status of my household plumbing. Everything was eventually fixed and nothing was damaged! Phew!

I'm enjoying the little explosion of Peace Fleece that is showing up around the ring... what's the yarn like to knit with? Does is have a soft or firm quality? Can you wear it against your skin (i.e. for a scarf)?

It looks lovely knit up!

So, so beautiful!

I get the same satisfaction from knitting Peace Fleece that I do from knitting with handspun. Except that with Peace Fleece, I don't worry about not having enough (a recurrent them for me with handspun!).

Sandy brought her Peace Fleece color card in to Knitsmiths and I must admit that I'm tempted to order a bunch of the light pink. It has so many cool flecks of color in it and I think it would look great knit up as an Accordion. :) Was great talking to you last night, oh giggly one! (Liv is ok, just tripped on the steps and scared herself. She was too tired.)

Mary I love the look of this yarn. It has a good old fashioned honesty about it...just an honest wool. It's just wonderful!

Glad to hear you're drying out. Thanks for the close-up -- that yarn is lovely and so are your sleeves. BTW< has your thank-you gift arrived?

Peace Fleece is my favorite yarn. I have knit so many sweaters with the stuff. I have found tha tthe texture, loft, and ply can be different with different colors though. I also love the feel, rustic yet not scratchy. I too am obsessedwith the stuff and I need to get some of that Grass Roots!

I thought it was my computer screen...but the picture you posted of this color is WAY more beautiful than on the Peacefleece website! Thank you for that picture... is it really accurate?!! If so, I'm buying some... (course I'll have to smuggle it into the house at this point)... *grin*
ps I love your site...I had no idea there were so many addicted knitters out there!

I keep looking at people's picutes of peace fleece, and wondering how it feels to work with. Bloggers are a way better advertizement than the web site is. I'd love to hear more about how it feels to you as you knit and wear it.

Lovely! I'm loving this sweater and am now extra impatient to get my peace fleece order in the mail so I can continue working on it.

...that sweater underneath looks suspiciously oilily

Wow. I love that yarn and those sleeves look fabulous. I can't wait to see the cardigan all done. It's going to be beautiful. I will most definitely have to get some Peace Fleece.

I'm crazy about tweedy yarns with colorful flecks. I'm glad I saw your site. How do you think it would do for a coat? I'm going to take a look at Peace Fleece.
Thanks,
