01.19.2004 :: Too Much Fun!

Is the best way for me to summarize a weekend filled with a group of the most intelligent, interesting and creative women. I didn't bring my camera, so the trip summary must be provided in more detail by my fellow travellers: Kerstin - the hostess with the mostest! Leigh - fellow traveler by air and dear friend Alison - who is so funny that you must meet her in person! Everyday Cardigan

Halcyon Yarns was a fun shop to visit. Overwhelming in it's yarn choices and color options. I was glad to find the entire line of Peace Fleece worsted weight yarns and was able to compare and contrast the colors.

Grass Roots - the perfect color for an election year

I ended up with enough yarn to make the everyday cardigan. I chose the color grass roots - though this picture does not do the yarn justice. It has flecks of every color and is perfect for a stockinette sweater. I've worked up a swatch and will post it soon!

Ann over at Much Ado About Knitting has knit this sweater beautifully. I think there are a couple of other people out there with this sweater in the WIP queue...

Hi Mary--glad you got home okay. It was so much fun to see you again!

I'm swatching up the everyday cardigan and am thinking that I might indeed go with peace fleece instead of the bartlett's...can't wait to see your swatch of the grassroots (I have a skein of that color too--maybe I'll try it swatch it!)

Welcom home, Mary. I hope you didn't freeze too much. We're definitely going to have to get together on your next trip out. By the way, you're title of swatch queen has prompted me to be a better swatcher and that saved me quite a bit of time and unhappiness with "Moss." You've inspired another swatcher!

I love that fleece. It's gorgeous! That cardigan is going to look fabulous. Once I get more experienced, I'll have to give it a try. :)
