Springtime Vest

Knitting progress has been made! I've been working on developing a web application at work and when I get home these days I don't want to get anywhere near a computer! But, I've done some knitting - the back of the Berocco vest is almost finished.

Cute yarn - Cute Project

I received this cute little kit from my secret pal. It's a skein of bulky, hand-dyed Morehouse Merino yarn that is to be knit into a little bag. It was irresistible - so I've already knit the bag. I just need to block it and add a fabric lining and it will be done. Neat yarn, fun project! Prior to receiving this kit - she also sent me some springtime Regia sock yarn - my current plan is socks for my niece and nephews. Thanks, Secret Pal!

My paws are cold - can we move to Florida?

Spencer says, "Snow in April? When will winter end?!" (ok, I said it, but I'm pretty sure that Spencer has been thinking it).

Katy is doing much better - the scar from her surgery is healing, though she is still under vet's orders to keep on the e-collar for a few more days. At my house, we no longer call it an e-collar, we call it a "kitty catcher" and it works quite well for this purpose!

Hi Mary,
I have been wondering where you have been. Glad the pup is better. I am thrilled to discover (via the link you provide) that the Morehouse Merino site is finally up and running. They have great kits but only sporatically got a catalog out. It's suppose to snow here tonight.

Glad to see you're back--you've been missed!

The Springtime Vest is lovely--maybe it will help chase the snow away & get rid of the wintertime blahs!

Back from your cruise?? hehehe
WHAT! Morehouse is up! and they didn't email me like they said they would!!!....they certainly didn't have you design their site! I can't believe Katy still has to wear her collar...keeping her in our thoughts.

Thank you so much for the Morehouse Merino link! Their new site is splendid, and I probably would not have bothered to look if you hadn't posted about it.

She blogs! She lives! Glad to see you're getting some knitting done. Spin some, too, while you're at it, eh? Why am I going to Maryland? WHY?!? :)

We had snow the other night here in Michigan too, Mary, with more coming this weekend. I'm told it is really spring in some parts of the world. Sigh. Your secret pal bag is adorable.

Hi Mary! I think Spencer's face really says it all...

I had planned to make that vest, too. I took the pattern with me when I bought the yarn. Now, of course, I can't find the pattern. Grr... How difficult is it? I'm still a newbie when it comes to cables. It's so gorgeous, tho, that I'm willing to try it. :)

Hi again Mary--This time I'm actually responding to an older blog entry. I've been looking at your Everyday Cardigan, and wondering how you managed to pick up the stitches around the neckline so neatly. I don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful neckline on a handknitted sweater before! No puckers, no distorted stitches. Do you have a secret technique?...
