A man who was arrested for murder was cleared with the help of the HBO show, Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The suspect's alibi was that he was at a baseball game at the time that the crime occured and therefore he could not have committed it. Regular TV coverage of the game didn't provide any evidence of the man's attendance, but an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm was filmed at the same game. Footage from the show verified that the guy was at the game and the charges were dropped.

I especially like this story, because this was the episode that put Larry David's show on my viewing schedule. I always thought the show was kind of funny, but this one really cracked me up. The lady who played the prostitute and his interaction with her was great.
