06.07.2004 :: Spencer's Doing Okay!

Please don't call me Limpy!

I know this picture is kind of sad - but many nice people had good wishes for Spencer and I wanted to let you all know that despite the rather extensive shaving done to his back leg, the boy is doing quite well. I'm keeping Katy away from him as much as possible. She tends to want to jump on his back, which is not good for a doggy with a sore back knee.

Spencer gets the biggest reward possible for not messing around with his stitches - no E-collar (or maybe the reward is getting all pills wrapped in slightly melted muenster cheese)! That makes us all happy at my house.

garter stitch cotton is nice

And some knitting. This is loosely based on the log cabin blanket described over at Mason-Dixon Knitting. I read the directions a couple of months ago and then a few days ago decided to start knitting a similar style blanket with Mission Falls 1824 Cotton. I purchased the yarn a few years ago and had planned on knitting this baby sweater for one of my nephews.

My neighbor is due to have her first baby is a week or so and I'm hoping to have this ready for her. It's so soft and will be nice for the summer.

Oh! here is a **hug** for Spencer. Look at him he is being such a good dog! My heart is just full for him ! It would be VERY hard for us to keep our two apart, they wrestle all the time. You are a good mommy Mary!

Look at that face!!! Katy reminds me of Liv. I'm looking forward to a summer filled with boyish cries of "Liv, get OFF me!" Not.

Oh, poor Spencer. His face is the most expressive I have ever seen. I can tell he loves the photographer! :)

Sandy's new blog looks great! Another wonderful design.

How could you not love a face like that? Here's to a speedy recovery.

Good BOY, Spencer, we hate those icky collars. Speedy recovery prayers are on our list! The blankie will be FABULOUS in the Mission Falls...what a great idea!!

Must be some pretty strong doggie pills in that muenster to keep him away from the stitches! Many doggie kisses to Spencer! What a long day you had waiting to hear, eh?
The blankie is wonderful! Love the colors and a I am mission falls cotton's biggest fan lately! Oh, and YOURS! :)

Aww!! Good vibes to the cutie pie. And I love the colors of the blankie!!

Hey, would you be willing to do a little overhauling of my site again? I have a few ideas to revamp mine a bit (then maybe I'll start posting more often..LOL!).

Email me if it's a possibility!

Poor Spencer! I hear your pain, brother. I had the same surgery on my left knee back in 1991, looks like you are much braver than I was. Love to you, Dogmuffin!

what a good boy spencer is. we had a border collie that required surgery on his hind leg...ugh. you couldn't keep him down. his eyes in that picture are precious. and the blanket is lovely. what a great gift.

What a swell dawg. Hope he's on the mend.

And I love your log cabin--I have to go tell Kay that you've started it.

Spencer looks a lot better than I did after my ACL surgery!

The Mission Falls blanket is beautifu. Just saw some of the cotton in real life for the first time yesterday. The colors and texture are fantastic.
