09.21.2004 :: Argh!

The other night I started knitting another sweater for Miss Barbie (also known as "she who likes to work the camera"). What could be a more perfect sweater than one with three colors: light pink, medium pink and dark pink. All the colors of Barbie's rainbow for sure.

Pattern Errata. The pattern for this sweater has so many errors it's simply bizarre. For example: k5, join new yarn, bind off 6, k5. Clear instructions...except that there are 21 stitches in the row! If you follow the directions, the back is about 3 inches long and the front finishes up at about 4.5 inches. Very strange. Fortunately, this is a tiny pattern, a tiny sweater, so a relatively tiny amount of time was spent on this. And I've found a way to make it work (I think).

I did a half-hearted search on google for any published pattern errata for this book but didn't find any. Maybe I'll start a page of corrections for myself and anyone else who's been inspired to take on a few of these little projects.

So, I'm going back to a project that will fit a regularly sized human being. These really cool Mittenettes from Missa at Midnight Knitter.

The CVP protocol of chemotherapy meds was not working (cytoxan, vinblastine, prednisone) - as was obvious just from looking at the poor boy's face and as confirmed by the vet.

Our next step is an alternate chemotherapy regimen (lomustine(CCNU) & prednisone). I've still got my fingers crossed that Spencer will somehow make it through this...

Fingers crossed here too. I see his poor swollen mouth. Give him a big hug from me and my kids. Take care.

Oh, my gosh, look at that face?! Melts my heart! :)
My fingers are crossed, my toes are crossed, as well as my arm, legs, eyes and some of my hairs. Can't cross enough, I say.

I should hope Sandy would keep her legs crossed. ;) Poor Spencer babe! These certainly are dog days for him (and you, too). Stay strong.

I want to see more of She Who Likes to Work the Camera. :)

Bouncer, Cammie and Ivan send Spencer good thoughts and best wishes. This is a hard row to hoe, isn't it?

I had wondered how Spencer was doing. Poor guy. I'm hoping that he does well...

I'll be thinking of you and Spencer and Katy - he knows you're there for him, and I'm sure that means a great deal to Spencer!

My thoughts are with both of you.

I'm a Blog Lurker, but this time I couldn't pass by without saying that I've been keeping you and Spencer in my thoughts. Hoping for the best.
