09.02.2004 :: Sweet Baby

sweet owen

My nephew! This picture is from last summer - he's getting to be a big boy now, but I just wanted to post a cuter picture than the one of my thumb in a splint.

Thanks for all of the good wishes about my thumb. I received encouraging news today from the orthopedic surgeon that I saw. Seven to ten days should be all that is required for a full recovery. This is much better news than what I got from the doctor in the ER and I'll take it.

One more random picture from the archives. My kitchen windowsill:

buttons, sheeps and piggies

Have you seen Leigh's sock-knitting machine? It's really cool.

Also, Sandrine is knitting Jade Starmore's Sand Dollar (and she's doing in the original pink Scottish Fleet). Though I can't imagine ever wearing this sweater, I think it's just beautiful. What I really like are the "scales" that go up the bottom part of the sweater. Wouldn't it be cool if Jade updated the design of this sweater?

One more thing. The most recent issue of Midwest Living had an article on the CVNP. The article isn't online, but the illustrated map used in the article is. You could use the map to get yourself in the approximate area. I live right near the horse's tail. Imagine that!

Is that a handknit by Mary sweater he's wearing in the older pix? Very cute!

Sand Dollar is the coolest design, but I can't imagine wearing it either. I might make it for Becky though.

I like how the pig dwarfs the house and the sheep on your kitchen windowsill.

My nieces and nephews are getting so big they hardly have time for chats with their Aunt anymore...sigh.. I corner them on the phone and in person hug them until they talk with me.
Wonderful news about your hand. : )

That's wonderful news about your hand. You must be relived. Oh, and by the way...Thanks for the tip on audio books at the libraries.

Happy to hear your good news. You are such a great photographer - I like the tinting - not to mention your nephew is too cute!

Your nephew looks like HIS thumb is the one in the splint! Look at that face! Love your windowsill pic. I'll have to show it to Liv. :) Sand Dollar is pretty, but I'm still lookin' at Fern.
