So, I've been spending a lot of time with my new friend WW. WW has been a good friend and we are accomplishing many wonderful things together.
I couldn't help but laugh and appreciate this guy's common sense approach to weight loss and maintenance. The No S Diet.
I've had many of the same thoughts that he shares about the agonizing details and unrealistic expectations of the *popular* diets. No carrots? Right. So many people have become obese because they binge on carrots?!
What's especially funny is that he even has an exercise program to use in conjunction with the diet.

I am totally bummed out! Every time I need to drop a few I just up the excercise and do what is essentially the noesdiet. Except I call it the no treats during the week diet. On the weekends I allow a few treats. It usually works for me. But I am older now, and I find my resolve is not what it used to be. But I lost 20 pounds on this baby once. I have recently started again, but only have about 5 to lose right now. Good Luck!

My sister did really well on this a few years ago, to the point of almost losing too much. She decided losing that much wasn't worth it because she was always hungry. :) I remember the light bulb going on over her head when she talked about the importance of "portion control." Stick with it!

If the SDiet doesn't "work" for one, at least it is way more entertaining than any other diet I've read. He's a funny guy.

There's quite a bit of truth to this approach. For me, I'd have to add No Snacking, and No food after Seven PM. Not an easy task. Mary, come join us in the DKYD. You'd be a terrific addition. (The link is on my blog)

I also LOVE the purling puppies button. There are so many knitters w/cats. The dog owners need equal time.
