We are not a pinnacle. Natural history is not a great tree reaching forth with many arms to produce at its uppermost tip a flowering end product, Man. It is not a timeline starting with fishes and ending with us. We did not leave apes and monkeys and everyone else behind. We are not special, we are not the end, we are not the product, we are not different or separate or superior. Evolution is not an ascending ladder with the heavenly human on the last rung.

This is my favorite paragraph:
"We have some skills given to us by time that allow us to kill off or exploit all other travelers, sometimes destroying their roads entirely; we are even endowed with the power to do this to members of our own party on our own road. We also (a long way back too) developed the ability to identify this use of power as Wrong, and to stop ourselves from doing it. But since we really like raping and killing and exploiting and torturing, we fund studies to prove that this right here is The Destination Point, and that since we're the end product of all of these aeons of development, we have the right to do whatever the fuck we want to."
Hey, your main page is saying that you feel frazzled ... keep the fingers away from the toaster, ok?
